The High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi is inviting applications for the engagement of 25 Law Researchers/Research Associates on a contractual basis.
Eligibility
• Candidates must be between 21 and 28 years of age as on the date of advertisement
• Fresh Law Graduates/Post Graduates from a University/College recognised by the Bar Council of India are eligible
• Students studying in the 5th year of a 5-year Law course or final year of a 3-year Law course are eligible, subject to passing the final year LL.B. examination before engagement
• Candidates familiar with computers will be preferred
• Practising lawyers must have their candidature recommended by a designated Senior Advocate
• Applicants other than lawyers must have their candidature recommended by the Head of the last Law School/College/University attended
• Candidates must have passed all examinations in the first attempt with at least 60% aggregate marks
• Candidates pursuing a Post Graduate degree in Law or any other degree/programme requiring compulsory attendance are not eligible
Position details
• Assist Hon’ble Judges in judicial and administrative work
• Conduct legal research on matters and legal issues as required by the assigned Hon’ble Judge
• Read case files and prepare case summaries, notes and chronological events
• Research and identify latest case laws, articles, papers and other relevant materials
• Assist in preparation of judgments, corrections and proofreading
• Attend court hearings and prepare notes of arguments along with research on citations
• Identify facts, issues and questions arising during arguments
• Maintain records of judgments and points of law decided in cases
• Assist in preparation of speeches and academic papers and provide assistance in important conferences
• Maintain statistical reports, books, research papers and other materials
