HUMAN.DROITS is inviting applications from motivated law students for a research internship examining intersectionality, violence against women in South Asia, and its relationship with CEDAW.

Eligibility

• Law students with a genuine interest in women’s rights, gender justice and violence against women (VAW)

• Basic legal research and writing skills

• Ability to work with legal and academic sources

• Ability to conduct structured online/desk research and accurately record sources

• Interest in CEDAW and international human rights law

• Ability to meet agreed deadlines and work independently

• Willingness to receive feedback and revise research/writing accordingly

• Prior experience in research or human rights work is welcome but not mandatory

• Project: Intersectionality & Sexual Violence in South Asia — Exploring Overlaps with CEDAW

• Conduct research examining the intersectionality and violence against women in South Asia

• Examine the relationship between the research theme and CEDAW

• Conduct structured online and desk research

• Work with legal and academic sources

• Accurately record research sources

• Selected interns demonstrating strong research and writing skills may have an opportunity to continue working with the HUMAN.DROITS team on the development of the project’s research report in the following months
