The Legal Aid Clinic & Pro-Bono Club, School of Law, Justice & Governance, Gautam Buddha University, jointly with Jotwani Associates, is inviting abstracts and papers for the National Conference on “Intellectual Property Rights: Innovation, Access and Society”, to be held on 20 November 2026.

About the Organisers

The conference is jointly organised by the Legal Aid Clinic & Pro-Bono Club of the School of Law, Justice & Governance, Gautam Buddha University, and Jotwani Associates. The Legal Aid Clinic works to advance access to justice, legal awareness and social responsibility by involving students in legal aid, community outreach and pro bono activities. The School of Law, Justice & Governance takes an interdisciplinary approach to legal education, with an emphasis on clinical legal education, moot courts and experiential learning. Jotwani Associates is a New Delhi-based law firm that provides technology-enabled legal services across domestic and international jurisdictions, with practice areas including Intellectual Property Rights, Corporate Laws, Litigation, Cyber Laws and Government Relations & Policy.

Submission guidelines

  • The conference is a multidisciplinary forum to analyse current developments in intellectual property law, including how IP rights intersect with innovation in fields such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology and digital technologies
  • It also looks at equitable access to medicines, educational resources and technology, and at balancing private IP rights with the public interest
  • Discussions will cover legal reforms, enforcement mechanisms, technology transfer, digital piracy and the protection of traditional knowledge
  • Theme I, Intellectual Property Rights and Innovation: Patents & Emerging Technologies, AI, Machine Learning & IP, Copyright & Digital Economy, Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical IP, and Technology Transfer & Commercialisation
  • Theme II, Intellectual Property Rights, Access and Public Interest: IPR & Access to Justice, IP & Access to Medicines, Copyright & Education, Traditional Knowledge & Community Rights, and IPR, Competition & Public Interest
  • Theme III, Intellectual Property Rights, Society and the Future: IPR & Social Justice, Generative AI & Copyright, Digital Piracy & IP Enforcement, Data, Privacy & Intellectual Property, and Future of IP Law & Policy
  • The themes and sub-themes are indicative, and papers on related topics may also be submitted
  • Submission: An abstract of 300 to 500 words, followed by a full paper
  • Abstracts must be typed in MS Word, in Times New Roman, 12-point size, with 1.5 line spacing
  • Any uniform citation style may be used
  • The cover page must contain the paper title, author name, institution name, email ID and phone number
  • Abstracts must state the objectives, methodology, data sources and keywords
  • Submissions must be original and unpublished
  • Plagiarism must remain below 10%
  • No content generated by artificial intelligence will be accepted
  • Presentations may be delivered physically or online

  • Registration fee: ₹200 for Gautam Buddha University undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Registration fee: ₹300 for all other research scholars, undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Registration fee: ₹500 for all faculty members and other professionals
  • The fee is non-refundable

  • Participants must complete registration through the designated Google Form and upload a soft copy or screenshot of the payment details
  • No other mode of registration is accepted
  • Abstracts must be submitted together with the registration form, and full papers through the same Google Form
  • Last date for abstract submission and registration: 31 October 2026
  • Last date of acceptance for presentation: 10 November 2026
  • Last date for full paper submission: 18 November 2026
