An opportunity is available for an Indian-qualified lawyer to work on a freelance project involving review of U.S. court opinions, legal citation validation, and case-treatment annotation.
Eligibility
• LL.B., B.A. LL.B., or equivalent law degree from India
• 2+ years of experience in legal research, litigation, case-law review, or legal annotation preferred
• Strong ability to read and interpret judicial opinions
• Familiarity with U.S. case law and legal citations strongly preferred
• High attention to detail
• Ability to follow structured annotation guidelines
Position details
• Review court opinions provided in HTML format
• Identify and validate case-law citations, including full citations, short forms, Id., and reporter references
• Group multiple citations referring to the same legal authority
• Identify relevant Evidence Text showing how the court discusses or treats a cited case
• Classify case treatment, direction, and severity based on project guidelines
