Saveetha School of Law is organising the Lex Commentaria Case Comment Writing Competition as part of Law Fest 2026, providing law students an opportunity to develop their legal research, analytical, and academic writing skills.

Eligibility

• Students pursuing undergraduate law programmes

• Students pursuing postgraduate law programmes

• Participants must carry their college identity card for verification at the venue

Competition guidelines

• The competition will be conducted offline at the Saveetha School of Law campus

• The problem will be released two days before the event

• Participants may use their own curated research while preparing the case commentary

• Word limit: 1,500–2,000 words

• Time allotted: 90 minutes

• Both individual authorship and co-authorship are permitted

• A participant kit will be provided by the organisers

• Mobile phones, smart devices, and unauthorised study materials are prohibited

• The submission must be original

• Plagiarism, malpractice, or use of unfair means may lead to immediate disqualification

• Participants must maintain discipline, professionalism, and academic integrity

• The decision of the judges and organising committee will be final and binding

• Winner: ₹2,000 cash prize and Certificate of Merit
