Erode College of Law is organising LEX PRUDENTIA – 2026, the 2nd National Level Inter-College Moot Court Competition in a hybrid format.
Eligibility
• Students pursuing a 3-year LL.B. or 5-year integrated LL.B. programme from a recognised institution
• A maximum of three teams from each college or university may participate
• Each team must consist of 2 Speakers and 1 Researcher, or a minimum of 2 members fulfilling the prescribed speaking and research requirements
• Participants must maintain anonymity throughout the competition by using the Team Code allotted by the organisers
Competition guidelines
• The competition will be conducted in English
• Preliminary, Octa-Final, and Quarter-Final rounds will be conducted virtually
• Semi-Final and Final rounds will be conducted physically at the college campus
• Theme: Environmental Law, Intellectual Property Law, Privacy and Technology Law
• The proposition is set in the fictional Republic of Zhindiva, whose laws are pari materia with the laws of India
• Environmental Law issue: Impact of an INR 18,000 crore AI data centre on groundwater resources
• Intellectual Property Law issue: Mass digitisation of nearly 2 million second-hand books for training a proprietary Large Language Model without licences
• Privacy and Technology Law issue: Informational privacy, user data retention, and platform liability concerning user-generated deepfakes
• Disclosure of the name or identity of the participating institution may result in forfeiture or disqualification

• Mode: Hybrid
• Registration Fee for Online Stage: ₹1,500 per team
• Registration Fee for Offline Stage: ₹2,500 per team for teams qualifying for the Semi-Final and Final rounds
• Registration fee is non-refundable under all circumstances
• Winning Team: ₹18,000 cash prize and Trophy
• Runner-Up Team: ₹10,000 cash prize and Trophy
• Best Male Speaker: ₹5,000 cash prize and Trophy
• Best Female Speaker: ₹5,000 cash prize and Trophy
• Best Memorial: ₹5,000 cash prize and Trophy
• Best Researcher: ₹5,000 cash prize and Trophy
• Eligible participants will receive E-Certificates of Participation

• Teams must fill in the prescribed registration details
• Teams must upload proof of payment
• Teams must upload a duly signed and sealed Bonafide Certificate issued by the participating institution
• A scanned backup copy of the application must be sent to eclmootcourtassociation@gmail.com wherever required
• A unique Team Code will be issued by email within 24 hours after successful verification of registration details
