XpressLegal is inviting applications for the position of Sr. Associate / Associate Partner in its Mortgage & Title Legal Due Diligence practice.

Eligibility

• 3–5 years of experience in the Mortgage, Lending, or Banking/BFSI sector.
• Law firm experience is required for the leadership role.
• A combination of law firm and bank/NBFC experience is preferred.
• Candidates should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, LLB, LLM, or equivalent.
• Candidates from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane will be preferred.
• Candidates from other parts of Maharashtra may also apply if willing to relocate to Mumbai.
• Candidates with relevant banking litigation experience may also apply for Associate positions at the Vashi, Thane, and Kandivali locations.
• Candidates with less experience may also be considered for Associate positions at the Vashi, Thane, and Kandivali locations.
• Candidates without a law degree may also be considered for Associate positions at the Vashi, Thane, and Kandivali locations.
• Candidates with banking litigation experience in areas such as SARFAESI, DRT, PASS, Suits, NIA, and Arbitration may also apply, provided they have previous work experience in the same or a similar legal practice area.

Position details

• Review and approve TSR/LSR reports prepared by associates.
• Ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with the required standards.
• Monitor timely delivery of reports within the expected turnaround time (TAT).
• Guide, advise, monitor, and manage the team.
• Allocate work effectively to ensure maximum team productivity.
• Resolve operational and legal issues to maintain a smooth workflow.
• Address client queries through email, WhatsApp, and phone calls.
• Ensure quick, clear, and effective communication with clients.
• Build strong client relationships and maintain high levels of client satisfaction.
• Deliver efficient legal services and support increased file allocation from existing clients.
• Ensure timely billing and collections.
• Coordinate with partners on new business development, increasing the share of files from existing clients, expansion into new business areas, and branch network growth.

Preferred profile

• Experience in non-litigation legal practice.
• Strong leadership and team-management skills.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Sound knowledge of the banking and financial services industry.
• Strong client-management and communication skills.
• Experience in mortgage, lending, banking, or BFSI-related legal work will be relevant to the role.
