The School of Excellence in Law, TNDALU, Chennai, in collaboration with Surana & Surana International Attorneys, is organising the 3rd Surana & Surana Trial Advocacy Moot Court Competition (North & South Rounds) 2026–27.

Eligibility

• Students pursuing either the 3-year LL.B. or 5-year integrated LL.B. programme from institutions recognised by the Bar Council of India are eligible.

• Only one team per institution is permitted.

Competition Details

• The competition focuses on criminal trial advocacy under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023.

• Participants will engage in examination and cross-examination of witnesses, presentation of evidence, and oral advocacy.

• Procedural Test: 26 August 2026, if registrations exceed 18 teams.

• South Rounds: 25–27 September 2026, at School of Excellence in Law, TNDALU, Chennai.

Registration Fee

• Stage I: ₹2,006 per team, payable by 25 August 2026

• Stage II: Additional ₹2,006 for the 18 teams qualifying for the Oral Rounds, payable by 6 September 2026

• Accommodation charges are additional.

Awards

• Trial Advocacy Team of the Year: ₹25,000

• Second Best Team of the Year: ₹15,000

• Trial Advocate of the Year: ₹10,000

• Second Best Trial Advocate: ₹5,000

• Best Memorial: ₹10,000

• Second Best Memorial: ₹5,000
