The National Forensic Sciences University is organising the National Legal Hackathon 2026, a legal problem-solving competition focused on developing practical and implementable solutions to real-world problems in the legal ecosystem.
Eligibility
• Students from any discipline, including law, technology, management, and other fields.
• Participation is not restricted to law students.
• Interdisciplinary teams are welcome and encouraged.
• Each team must consist of 2–4 members.
• Teams may comprise students from the same or different colleges.
• The proposed solution must directly address a real problem within the legal field relevant to lawyers, the judiciary, law students, or legal processes.
Competition details
• Stage 1 – Online Submission: Structured business idea/legal startup proposal in PDF format.
• Stage 2 – Shortlisting: Approximately 20 teams will be shortlisted.
• Stage 3 – Preliminary Round: Shortlisted teams will present their solutions on campus on 16 October 2026.
• Stage 4 – Final Round: Top 5 teams will compete for the final placements on 17 October 2026.
• The competition focuses on legal startups, tech-enabled tools, service models, or process innovations.
• The competition is execution-focused rather than an abstract innovation challenge.
• A complimentary and optional Legal Startup Workshop will be conducted on 16 October 2026 by Dr. Kalpesh Sarwal.

• Mode: Online Submission Round + Offline On-Campus Rounds.
• Venue: National Forensic Sciences University, Delhi Campus, Outer Ring Rd, near Jaipur Golden Hospital, Institutional Area, Rohini, Delhi – 110085.
• Registration Fee: ₹2,500, without accommodation.
• Winner: ₹30,000 cash prize + Memento & Certificate of Merit.
• Runner-up: ₹20,000 cash prize + Memento & Certificate of Merit.
